7006-0142 | Office of Public Safety and Inspections For the administration of the office of public safety and inspections at the division of professional licensure, which may expend not more than $13,177,504 in revenues collected from fees or fines for annual elevator inspections, building inspections, amusement park ride inspections, state building code training and courses of instruction, licensing of pipefitters and hoisting equipment operators, all licensing programs administered by the office of public safety and inspections, revenues from fines collected under section 65 of chapter 143 of the General Laws and fees for appeals of civil fines issued under section 22 of chapter 22 of the General Laws and said section 65 of said chapter 143; provided, that funds shall be expended for the administration of the office of public safety and inspections, including but not limited to inspectional services, licensing services, the architectural access board, elevator inspections, building inspections and amusement device inspections; and provided further, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for the purpose of accommodating timing discrepancies between the receipt of retained revenues and related expenditures, the department may incur expenses and the comptroller may certify for payment amounts not to exceed the lower of this authorization or the most recent revenue estimate, as reported in the state accounting system |
