For the department of public safety, which may expend for the operation of the department and for state building code training and education materials an amount not to exceed $9,491,889 from fees charged for training and for elevator and amusement park inspections under sections 62 and 62A of chapter 143 of the General Laws, and section 205A of chapter 140 of the General Laws; provided, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for the purpose of accommodating timing discrepancies between the receipt of retained revenues and related expenditures, the department may incur expenses and the comptroller may certify for payment amounts not to exceed the lower of this authorization or the most recent revenue estimate, as reported in the state accounting system

8315-1021 Elevator Inspector Civil Fines RR
For the department of public safety, which may expend an amount not more than $155,150 in revenues from fines collected pursuant to section 65 of chapter 143 of the General Laws and fees for appeals of civil fines issued pursuant to section 21 of chapter 22 of the General Laws and said section 65 of said chapter 143; provided, that funds shall be expended for the operation of the department in effectuating a procedure by which all or a portion of the $100 per day fine issued pursuant to said section 65 of said chapter 143 may be waived by the commissioner or his designee

For the department of public safety, which may expend an amount not to exceed $1,479,130 in revenues collected from fees for issuance of boiler and pressure vessel certificates and inspections; provided, that funds shall be expended for the operation of the department and for the purposes of addressing the existing boiler and pressure vessels inspection backlog; provided further, that funds shall be expended for hiring additional engineering inspectors or engineers; and provided further, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for the purpose of accommodating timing discrepancies between the receipt of retained revenues and related expenditures, the department may incur expenses and the comptroller may certify for payment amounts not to exceed the lower of this authorization or the most recent revenue estimate, as reported in the state accounting system
