Mission:
The mission of the Massachusetts Highway Department is to design, build, maintain and operate a safe, efficient and multi-modal state highway and bridge system; to enhance the quality of life in Massachusetts through effective traffic management, proper maintenance of the highways and bridges, and efficient, safe design and construction procedures; to promote transparency by sharing key information with the public in a variety of formats; and to strengthen the economy of Massachusetts by providing world-class infrastructure that supports jobs growth and development.
