Gas and Electric Utility Assessment Increase
SECTION 20.
Subsection (c) of section 11H of chapter 25A of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out the second, third, and fourth sentences, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, and inserting in place thereof the following 2 sentences:- The assessment shall not exceed an amount equal to 3.75 per cent of the total annual mandatory charge collected by each utility company under section 19 of chapter 25 in the case of electric companies, or 3.75 per cent of the efficiency budgets as approved by the department of public utilities or otherwise required by law in the case of gas companies, as applicable. Assessments made under this section shall be charged by the utility companies against the revenues so collected under section 19 of chapter 25 or as the revenues are approved by the department of public utilities or otherwise required by law, as applicable.
