Mission:
The Massachusetts State Lottery was created by the Legislature in 1971 in response to the need for revenues for the 351 cities and towns of the Commonwealth. The Lottery is charged with generating the revenues through the sale of its products while the Department of Revenue's Division of Local Services is responsible for disbursing the funds to municipalities.Governing Laws:
