For the operation of the jail, house of correction and any other statutorily authorized facilities and functions under the administration of the office of the sheriff of Middlesex county; provided, that the sheriff shall report to the house and senate committees on ways and means on the average monthly inmate population in the county starting not later than August 1, 2007 		64,445,324

8910-0160 Reimbursement from Housing Federal Inmates Retained Revenue
For a retained revenue account for the Middlesex sheriff's department for reimbursements from the federal government for costs associated with the incarceration of federal inmates at the Billerica house of correction; provided, that the department may expend for the operation of the department an amount not to exceed $850,000 from revenues collected from the incarceration of federal inmates; provided further, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for the purpose of accommodating timing discrepancies between the receipt of retained revenues and related expenditures, the department may incur expenses and the comptroller may certify for payment amounts not to exceed the lower of this authorization or the most recent revenue estimate therefor as reported in the state accounting system; and provided further, that all expenditures from this item shall be subject to chapter 29 of the General Laws and recorded on the Massachusetts management accounting and reporting system 		850,000
8910-1100 Prison Industries Retained Revenue
For a prison industries revenue retention account for the Middlesex sheriff's department; provided, that the department may expend an amount not to exceed $150,000 from revenues collected from the sale of products, for materials, supplies, equipment, maintenance of facilities and compensation of employees of the program; and provided further, that all expenditures from this item shall be subject to chapter 29 of the General Laws and recorded in the Massachusetts management accounting and reporting system 		150,000
