7002-1091 Career Technical Institutes

For the development and operation of career technical institutes in vocational--technical schools in partnership with industry and community stakeholders; provided, that career technical institutes shall build out industry recognized credentialing pathways for adult learners in technical and trade fields to retrain and grow the workforce; provided further, that at the direction of the secretary of labor and workforce development, development funds may be transferred to the Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund established in section 2WWW of chapter 29 of the General Laws to issue competitive grants to support the start--up and educational costs of career technical institutes; and provided further, that not less than $150,000 shall be expended to the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association for workforce development training opportunities and technical education in secondary and post--secondary schools for careers in the marine trades
