7035-0008 Homeless Student Transportation

For reimbursements to cities, towns and regional school districts for the cost of transportation of nonresident pupils as required by the federal McKinney--Vento Homeless Assistance Act, 42 U.S.C. 119; provided, that not later than February 12, 2027, the department of elementary and secondary education shall submit to the house and senate committees on ways and means a preliminary estimate of the costs eligible for reimbursement under this item in fiscal year 2028; and provided further, that the commonwealth's obligation shall not exceed the amount appropriated in this item
