8324-0500 Boiler Inspection Retained Revenue

For the department of fire services, which may expend not more than $2,325,060 in revenues collected from fees for annual issuance of boiler and pressure vessel certificates and inspections; provided, that funds shall be expended for the operation of the department and to address the existing boiler and pressure vessel inspection backlog; provided further, that funds shall be expended for hiring additional engineering inspectors or engineers; and provided further, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for accommodating timing discrepancies between the receipt of retained revenues and related expenditures, the department may incur expenses and the comptroller may certify for payment amounts not to exceed the lower of this authorization or the most recent revenue estimate as reported in the state accounting system.
