7061-9634 Mentoring Matching Grants

For the Mass Mentoring Partnership, Inc., which shall be responsible for administering a competitive statewide grant program for public and private agencies to start or expand youth mentoring programs according to current best practices and for purposes including advancing academic performance, self-esteem, social competence and workforce development; provided, that the department of elementary and secondary education shall transfer the amount appropriated in this item to the Mass Mentoring Partnership, Inc., for these grants; provided further, that in order to be eligible to receive funds from this item, each public or private agency shall provide a matching amount equal to $1 for every $1 disbursed from this item; and provided further, that not later than March 15, 2022, the Mass Mentoring Partnership, Inc. shall submit a report to the department detailing the impact of the grants, expenditure of funds and the amount and source of matching funds raised
