1595-6379 Merit Rating Board

For the operation of the motor vehicle insurance merit rating board, including the rent, related parking and utility expenses of the board; provided, that the amount appropriated in this item and the associated fringe benefits costs shall be borne by insurance companies doing motor vehicle insurance business within the commonwealth under section 57A of chapter 6C of the General Laws; and provided further, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, no safe driver insurance plan shall require the payment of an unsafe driver point surcharge for the first offense for a non-criminal motor vehicle traffic violation as described in chapter 90C of the General Laws
