4513-1130 Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Prevention and Treatment

For domestic violence and sexual assault prevention and survivor services, including: (i) intimate partner abuse education, formerly known as the batterers' intervention services; (ii) services for immigrants and refugees; (iii) rape crisis center survivor services and prevention; and (iv) intervention services and crisis housing for sexual violence and intimate partner violence in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning communities; provided, that funds shall be expended for rape prevention and victim services, including the statewide Spanish language hotline, community-based domestic violence response, emergency and transitional residential services for sexual and domestic violence victims and their children and supervised visitation and trauma services for children who witness violence and targeted services for department of children and families-involved families; provided further, that $5,000,000 shall be transferred to the COVID-19 Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Survivors' Safety Trust Fund established in section 102, to provide grants for domestic violence liaisons to expand resources and services for domestic violence survivors; provided further, that not less than $50,000 shall be expended for the Katie Brown Educational Program, Inc. for a pilot instructional initiative, the Train the Trainer program, to train educators and increase the number of Southeastern Massachusetts students who acquire invaluable knowledge about the prevention of relationship violence; provided further, that not less than $10,000 shall be expended for the purpose of providing additional resources to police officers for domestic violence investigations in the town of Salisbury; provided further, that not less than $50,000 shall be expended for the domestic violence outreach coordinator position within the Cape Verdean Association of Brockton; and provided further, that the department of public health shall ensure that there shall not be a disruption in survivor services and violence prevention activities or a negative impact on program functioning during fiscal year 2021
