For a transfer to the Massachusetts Life Science Center established in
section 3 of Chapter 23I of the General Laws for programming and operations that advance efforts related to life sciences and spurs economic growth in the Commonwealth; provided, that not less than $2,000,000 may be expended for initiatives related to advancing health equity in underserved communities, including, but not limited to, addressing unmet healthcare needs, reducing disparities, and promoting regional and statewide health equity initiatives; provided further, that not less than $1,600,000 may be expended on programs, competitive grant programs, challenges, and other initiatives to support underrepresented entrepreneurs and early-stage companies in growing and underfunded sectors in the life sciences to expand networks, increase visibility, and obtain investment for their ventures; and provided further, that not less than $1,240,000 may be expended on programs, competitive grant programs, challenges, and other initiatives to support women's health and further understanding of sex and gender differences for diseases that disproportionately impact underrepresented populations
