Section 12 Modernizing Lottery Operations 3

Section 27 of said chapter 10, as so appearing, is hereby amended by striking out the first sentence of the second paragraph and inserting in place thereof the following three sentences:- No covered state employee or member of their immediate family shall be issued a license to sell lottery tickets. For purposes of this section, "covered state employee" shall mean (i) a "state employee" or "special state employee" of the commission, the office of the governor, the department of the state treasurer, the executive office of public safety and security, or the office of the comptroller under section 1 of chapter two hundred sixty-eight A; or (ii) the secretary of an executive office of the commonwealth. "Immediate family" shall have the same meaning as in section 1 of chapter two hundred sixty-eight A.

This section, along with other related sections, makes updates to increase compliance and maximize efficiency in lottery operations.
