Section 78 FY 2022 Stabilization Fund Transfer

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the comptroller shall, during fiscal year 2022, but prior to the calculation of the fiscal year 2022 consolidated net surplus in
accordance with Section 5C of Chapter 29 of the Massachusetts General Laws, transfer up to $1,600,000,000 to the General Fund from the Commonwealth Stabilization Fund, established by section 2H of chapter 29 of the General Laws, upon the written request of the secretary of administration and finance.

This section establishes a ceiling of $1.6 billion on the amount that may be transferred from the Stabilization Fund to the General Fund to support the operating budget for fiscal year 2022.
