Said section 5K of said chapter 111, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting, in line 66, after the word "commonwealth" the following words:- , including a nuclear power plant that is no longer operating, until the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has approved all areas of the site for unrestricted use, excluding the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation licensed by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the unrestricted use areas meet the radiological release criteria established in regulations promulgated pursuant to section 5N. Summary
This section, along with three others, authorizes DPH to assess the operators of nuclear reactors that are in the process of being decommissioned for associated radiation monitoring and emergency planning costs.
