| 7027-1004 | English Language Acquisition For services that improve outcomes for English language learners, including, but not limited to, English language acquisition professional development to improve the academic performance of English language learners; provided, that funds shall be expended to implement the programs outlined in chapter 71A of the General Laws, as amended by chapter 138 of the acts of 2017; provided further, that funds may be expended for the professional development of vocational-technical educators who educate English language learners; provided further, that funds may be expended to administer the requirements outlined in said chapter 138 of said acts of 2017; provided further, that not less than $250,000 shall be expended on grants to high-quality, intensive English language learning programs in districts serving Gateway Cities; provided further, that funds shall be expended for districts to provide support for middle and high school students deemed to be at risk of dropping out of school as a result of language barriers or challenges in English language acquisition; and provided further, that funds may be expended for programs or activities during the summer months |
