    0321-1600 Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation
    For the Massachusetts Legal Assistance Corporation to provide legal representation for indigent or otherwise disadvantaged residents of the commonwealth; provided, that not later than February 1, 2019, the corporation shall submit a report to the house and senate committees on ways and means using the most recent Census Bureau population data available that shall include, but not be limited to: (a) the number of persons assisted by the programs funded by the corporation in the prior fiscal year; (b) any proposed expansion of legal services, delineated by type of service, target population and cost; and (c) the total number of indigent or otherwise disadvantaged residents who received services from the corporation, delineated by type of case and geographic location; provided further, that the corporation may contract with any organization to provide representation; provided further, that no less than $40,000 shall be allocated to the Quintana Center Immigration Legal Clinic to provide pro-bono immigration legal services to clients; and provided further, that notwithstanding the first paragraph of section 9 of chapter 221A of the General Laws, funds shall be expended for the Disability Benefits Project, the Medicare Advocacy Project and the Domestic Violence Legal Assistance Project
