1595-6368 Massachusetts Transportation Trust Fund
For an operating transfer to the Massachusetts Transportation Trust Fund, established pursuant to section 4 of chapter 6C of the General Laws; provided, that $40,000,000 shall be provided to the regional transit authorities organized pursuant to chapter 161B of the General Laws or predecessor statutes pursuant to clause (2) of subsection (d) of section 2ZZZ of chapter 29 of the General Laws; provided further, that not less than $770,000 shall be provided to the Montachusett regional transit authority for a contract with Community Transit Services, Inc., or any successor agency engaged by the Montachusett regional transit authority, to provide the existing services and ensure those services shall not be reduced in fiscal year 2015; provided further, that not less than $460,000 shall be provided to Berkshire Rides to maintain transportation services; provided further, that not less than $100,000 shall be a expended for a program to assist the training, placement and development of a professional, proficient and technically competent workforce that will support the existing and emerging staffing and labor needs of the public transportation sector; provided further, that such program shall be established and operated by the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority; provided further, that the authority shall work with agencies and organizations and public higher education institutions that have developed expertise and documented successful outcomes in job training and placement, including curriculum, coursework and practical application skills development; and provided further, that the program shall provide special outreach to veterans and to diverse populations in the MetroWest region that have mobility and transportation challenges including, but not limited to, people with certain disabilities, the economically disadvantaged and cultural and linguistic minorities
