8000-0054 Municipal Police Grants
For municipal police grants to be administered by the executive office of public safety; provided, that no such grants shall be awarded to the department of state police; provided further, that these funds are intended for initial funding of 50 municipal officers, but not as a permanent subsidy; provided further, that the executive office of public safety in conjunction with representatives from municipal government and law enforcement, the house and senate committees on ways and means and the joint committee on public safety and homeland security shall develop a formula to distribute the funds; provided further, that grant recipients shall submit quarterly reports to the executive office of public safety, the house and senate committees on ways and means and the joint committee on public safety and homeland security which shall detail the fiscal and programmatic steps taken with the grant funds to enhance municipal policing efforts; and provided further, that not more than $100,000 of the sum appropriated in this line-item for its costs to administer the program
