3000-6000 Quality Program Supports
For grants to early education and care providers in the commonwealth for the costs associated with accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the National Association for Family Child Care, or such other accreditation agencies approved by the board; provided, that funds shall be distributed by the department with approval of the board; provided further, that eligible recipients for such grants shall include community partnership councils, municipal school districts, regional school districts, educational collaboratives, head start programs, licensed child care providers, and child care resource and referral centers; provided further, that the department shall work with community partnership councils and child care resource and referral centers to identify applicants who are highly talented providers capable of meeting the rigorous accreditation requirements of these agencies; and provided further, that, in order to ensure continuity in the accreditation process, the department shall provide continuation grants without further application to any local council which received funds last year, and which are engaged in ongoing accreditation projects
