8000-0106 State Police Crime Laboratory
For the operation and related costs of the state police crime laboratory; provided, that the analysis of narcotic drug synthetic substitutes, poisons, drugs, medicines, and chemicals shall be funded in this item in order to support the law enforcement efforts of the district attorneys, the state police and municipal police departments; provided further, that the agency shall contract with a public institution to conduct testing for criminal cases; provided further, that the agency shall enter into agreements with the various district attorneys to provide forensic services for criminal cases brought forth by the commonwealth; provided further, that the practices and procedures of the state police crime laboratory shall be informed by the recommendations of the Forensic Sciences Advisory Board; provided further, that the agency shall report to the house and senate committees on ways and means, and the joint committee on public safety and homeland security, not later than December 31, 2007, concerning, but not limited to, the detailing of the number of cases introduced to the CODIS database, the number of confirmations attained from the CODIS database, and the number of cases referred to district attorney delineated by county
