4510-0723 Board of Registration in Medicine and Acupuncture
For the operation and administration of the board of registration in medicine and the committee on acupuncture; provided, that the board of registration in medicine shall prepare an annual report addressing its activities with respect to licensing, enforcement, law and policy, patient safety and other relevant topics, including, but not limited to, the total number of cases referred to and reviewed by the board, the resolution of such cases, the approximate number of cases assigned to each investigator, any increases or decreases in cases referred to the board in the previous 6 months, a compilation of cases from its patient care assessment program describing incidents involving preventable medical error that resulted in harm to patient or health care provider for the purpose of assisting the providers, hospitals and pharmacies to modify their practices and techniques to avoid error and any other relevant topics; provided further, that the board shall submit the report to the general court, house and senate committees on ways and means and the joint committee on health care financing and the joint committee on public health by January 4, 2008, and shall make the compilation widely available, including by electronic means, to the public; and provided further, that the board shall promulgate rules and regulations to coordinate their patient care assessment program with the boards of registration in nursing and pharmacy
