7061-9634 | Mentoring Matching Grants For a transfer of this item to the Mass Mentoring Partnership, which shall be responsible for administering a competitive statewide grant program for public and private agencies to start or expand youth mentoring programs according to current best practices and for purposes including advancing academic performance, self-esteem, social competence, and workforce development; provided, that the department of elementary and secondary education shall transfer the amount appropriated in this item to the Mass Mentoring Partnership for the purpose of these grants; provided further, that in order to be eligible to receive funds from this item, each public or private agency shall provide a matching amount equal to $1 for every $1 disbursed from this item; and provided further, that the Mass Mentoring Partnership shall submit a report detailing the impact of grants, the expenditure of funds, and the amount and source of matching funds raised to the department of elementary and secondary education |
