8100-0011 | Federal Reimbursement Retained Revenue The department of state police may expend an amount not to exceed $3,100,000 from federal reimbursements and other revenues received for costs associated with joint federal and state law enforcement activities and other police activities provided under agreements authorized in this item; provided, that the colonel of state police may enter into contracts for the provision of police services with the commanding officer or other person in charge of a military reservation of the United States located in the commonwealth or the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency; provided, that the superintendent may enter into service agreements that may be necessary to enhance the protection of persons, assets and infrastructure located within the commonwealth from possible external threat or activity; and provided further, that notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, for the purpose of accommodating timing discrepancies between the receipt of retained revenues and related expenditures, the department may incur expenses and the comptroller may certify for payment amounts not to exceed the lower of this authorization or the most recent revenue estimate, as reported in the state accounting system |
