4510-0710 | Division of Health Care Quality and Improvement For the operation of the division of health care safety and quality and the office of patient protection; provided, that services funded through this item shall include, but not be limited to: education, training, intervention, support, surveillance and evaluation; provided further, that funds shall be expended for the advancement of the prescription monitoring program and the maintenance and enhancement of prescription drug monitoring information exchange architecture to support interstate prescription drug monitoring data sharing; provided further, that the division shall be responsible for assuring quality of patient care provided by the commonwealth's health care facilities and services and for protecting the health and safety of patients who receive care and services in nursing homes, rest homes, clinical laboratories, clinics, institutions for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and the mentally ill, hospitals and infirmaries, including the inspection of ambulance services; provided further, that investigators shall conduct investigations of abuse, neglect, mistreatment and misappropriation; provided further, that all investigators in the division of health care quality responsible for the investigations shall receive training by the Medicaid fraud control unit in the office of the attorney general; provided further, that the department shall expend not less than $500,000 for the development and implementation of the Mobile Integrated Healthcare program; provided further, that funds shall be expended for the full registration of practitioners, physician assistants and registered nurses authorized by the board of registration in nursing to practice in advanced practice nursing roles under section 7A of chapter 94C of the General Laws; and provided further, that not less than $50,000 shall be expended to Fairview Hospital for a feasibility study for shared regional emergency medical services in southern Berkshire County |
