4510-0615 | Nuclear Power Reactor Monitoring Fee Retained Revenue For the department of public health, which may expend not more than $180,000 from assessments collected under section 5K of chapter 111 of the General Laws for services provided to monitor, survey and inspect nuclear power reactors; provided that the department may expend not more than $1,592,312 from fees collected from licensing and inspecting users of radioactive material within the commonwealth under licenses presently issued by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission; provided further, that the retained revenues may be used for the costs of both programs, including the compensation of employees; provided further, that in fiscal year 2019 the department shall expend an amount not less than expended in fiscal year 2018 for the C-10 Research and Education Foundation, Inc. to provide radiological monitoring in the 6 communities of the commonwealth that are within the plume exposure emergency planning zone of Seabrook Nuclear Power plant; and provided further, that for the purpose of accommodating timing discrepancies between the receipt of retained revenues and related expenditures, the department may incur expenses and the comptroller may certify for payment amounts not to exceed the lower of this authorization or the most recent revenue estimate as reported in the state accounting system |
